Phillips' STORY:
Phillips' mother died of AIDS when he was seven months old and his father died the next year. Phillips was immediately taken in and cared for by Uncle Fredβs mother, who also supported eight other orphans. He never endured the street life and has been cared for by Saving Grace in Uganda since he was seven years old.
Phillips has a strong faith and a gift for leading worship and teaching others about God. He cares about the world and wants to bring about change in Uganda to end the cycle of poverty. Although not one the oldest boys, other children at the village look up to him as a spiritual leader and respect his wisdom. He enjoys praying, singing, farming and cooking. In 2016 Phillips, along with Ivan Otwal, won a Northern Uganda mathematics competition and was honored at a conference in the capital city, Kampala. Phillips has always dreamed of being a pastor but has recently considered pursuing a degree in engineering.
