Brian’s STORY:
Brian’s parents divorced when he was a young child. His mother abandoned the family and his father was in and out of prison due criminal charges. This left Brian and his older brother under the care of their grandmother. Unforunately the grandmother was extremely poor and could not care for the boys’ basic needs. Brian would go days at a time without eating and had to work very hard just to survive. After some time, Brian’s brother fled to the streets of Lira town and Brian followed. Brian says that on the streets he would cry every day due to hunger and sickness. He spent his days collecting metal scraps to trade for food. Street life was especially hard for Brian because he was one of the youngest children around.
After months of living on the streets, Brian was rescued at an SGU ministry day in October of 2019. He is now thriving. He has an infectious smile and is a skilled dancer. He’s a quick learner and loves coming up with his own new games to play. He’s thankful for his housemothers and teacher that take care of him and educate him.
