jemimah’s STORY:
Jemimah’s parents divorced when she was one year old. After her mother left the home, Jemimah’s father remarried and took her to live with her grandfather, step-mother, and three half-siblings. According to Jemimah, when her father and stepmother fought they would make 6-year-old Jemimah sleep outside by herself. Even when she was allowed inside she remembers how her stepmother mistreated her and told her that she did not deserve to stay in their house. Since there was not enough money to send Jemimah to school, her situation seemed hopeless. But that is when our staff located Jemimah, investigated her living situation, and brought her to the SGU village to live a life filled with hope and love. Jemimah is a vibrant little girl who already sings with the choir on Sundays and is passionate about her love for God. She still prays that God will heal her mother wherever she is.
